This summer, you can learn how to build a timber frame house using traditional building techniques.
Learn how to hand cut joinery without power tools!
Timber Framers Kim Balfour and Scott Hadam will be leading a five day workshop where you will learn and apply these skills to build a 20x20 building, for the Schoharie River Center.
The new building will become a space the Schoharie River Center will use to hold educational training workshops and programs such as blacksmithing and timber framing.
The workshop runs from 8/14/19 - 8/18/19 from 8:30am to 5:00pm each day. The cost to participate is just $250. Payment in full or half is due at time of registration (with the remainder due 8/9/19).
A downloadable/printable registration form is available here, or, click the links below to submit your registration online. Registration is limited to the first 16 people, so signup today!
Note: We will be using hand tools (hammers, chisels, and saws, etc.) and there may be some heavy lifting involved, space is limited. Be prepared to be outside in the woods with weather appropriate clothes, a good pair of hiking boots, a notepad, pencil and a lunch.
You must be 15 years of age or older to participate. For more information on this or any of our programs, please contact us.
